Hole 16

Number 16 at The Loon does not have a fairway bunker off the tee. The hole doglegs to the right and forces the player to either hit the drive at least 230 from the back tees or favor the left side.  Once you're at the dogleg you look down the hill at the green that is well protected with sand.  The trap on the front left of the green is 20 yards short of the green and makes the second shot look much closer than it is. Usually heading into the prevailing wind most players come up short on their approach.  Over the green is wet so that is not an option. The green is not large or difficult to get the ball up and down if you miss it.  "Left off the tee is much better then right of the tee."
